Rick Martinez has dedicated his entire life to the service of others, from the military to law enforcement. As a NYC Police Officer, he served as a member of the elite Emergency Service Unit.

Louie Cacchioli Firefighter, FDNY, Engine 47 now retired. On September 11, Cacchioli, a veteran of two decades with the FDNY, became trapped with another firefighter in an elevator on the 24th floor of the north tower.
After prying open the doors, the men lost each other in the smoke. Cacchioli led as many as 40 civilians down a stairwell. Then the tower fell, leaving him choking in dust and debris.
